Suggested materials - Getting started with the Micro820 PLC

I hope it's obvious that most of these items are suggestions. If you're like me, you'll just use what you have if possible.

Bare Minimum

Windows PC with Connected Components Workbench
Micro820 PLC
24 VDC power supply. Just about any will do. Some examples:

120 VAC single phase power cord
35 mm DIN rail channel. Examples:

Example 2
Stranded hook up wire (20-16 AWG recommended) as needed. Examples:
Ethernet cable

Useful but not required

SPST toggle switch. Example:

Insulated ferrules:
20 AWG wire
18 AWG wire
16 AWG wire
Ferrule crimping tool

Recommended for RS-232 communication

RS-232 to USB converter. There are lots of these to choose from. Most aren't trustworthy. A nice choice would be this one from BlackBox:
BlackBox P/N IC199A-R3
An adapter like this will speed up the wiring. Well worth it if you'll be experimenting with RS-232.
